Maritime Surveillance System - Systems Engineers
Forward Slope is seeking intelligent, highly motivated Junior and Mid Level Systems Engineers on our team oriented work environment to work on our Maritime Surveillance System program. The ideal candidate would have a strong systems engineering background that has been supplemented with network, communication systems, radar systems, and software engineering experience. Successful candidate will develop, design, configure, install, test, and train of Maritime Surveillance System installations, to include:
- Gathering and documenting requirements as well as concepts of operations based on U.S. Government and host nation objectives
- Select hardware components to meet system requirements, performing trade studies as necessary to evaluate alternative choices
- Integrate hardware components into a coastal surveillance software application in a laboratory environment to include the conduct of integration testing and system testing before components are shipped to the host nation.
- Design, develop and integrate IP based communications networks to include WAN, Microwave, and VHF/HF radios
- Develop new interfaces into the coastal surveillance software application as necessary. This could involve the development of software based facades that bridge selected hardware component interfaces to the hardware abstraction layer of the coastal surveillance software application or the transformation of available XML reports from the coastal surveillance software into specific messaging formats
- Support installation and test the Maritime Surveillance System in the host nation
- Support operator and maintenance training to host nation personnel
Candidate’s resume should clearly show how their experience is relevant to the duties described above and how this experience meets the evaluation criteria listed below. Minimum Requirements: (applicants will not be considered if they do not meet these requirements)
- Candidate is required to have received a BA/BS in a engineering or computer related field
- Candidate is required to have 3 – 8 years relevant technical experience
- Candidate must be U.S. Citizen
- Candidate must be available to travel internationally (approximately 12 weeks per year for up to four weeks at a time)
Desired Requirements: (qualified applicants will be evaluated based on these requirements, which are listed in order of importance)
- Candidate should have Networking, Communications and or Radar systems experience
- Candidate should have experience designing, integrating and deploying maritime surveillance systems
- Candidate should have software development and software integration experience in sensor related software development projects—C/C++ experience as well as C# experience is preferred

- Candidate should have international business experience
- Candidate should have experience designing and deploying data communications networks

C41SR Software Engineers
Forward Slope is seeking intelligent, highly motivated Software Engineers to join our team oriented work environment, and perform system/software engineering tasks related to Navy C4ISR systems. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering skills with expertise in areas such as Open GIS Consortium (OGC) standards and implementation, SOA and development of web services to support Navy C2. Desired experience includes:
- Gathering and documenting software requirements
- Past work on GCCS/DCGS family of systems
- Past work on ISR systems including data collection, data management, and databases
- Familiarity with open source/open standard software development
- Experience with other service (USMC, USAF, USA, SOCOM) C4ISR applications
- Candidates with specific domain expertise in web services, data mining, SOA, artificial intelligence, knowledge management, data fusion/correlation, and complex event processing are highly desired.
- Experience with operational naval systems as an operator is highly desired in information dominance related activities (maritime domain awareness, ISR, Information Operations, METOC, etc.).
- Experience working with CMMI related processes
